Tesco and me...

After work yesterday I went to Tesco! Nothing to brag about; just like going to Fotex or Hagkaup but with a lot more microwave food! But the funny thing is when I’m at the supermarket I feel much more English than in other places! Don’t misunderstand me, I don’t want to be English but it is a nice feeling that you just one of them. It is a bit strange for a person like me who has been living for a long time away from my home country! One has a multi nationality…I’m Icelandic but a bit Danish as well and now I sometimes wonders if I could feel English too!
I’ve always loved going to supermarkets. I think that supermarkets can tell you more about how people behave, what the like to do and so many other things! In Tesco yesterday I bought a bottle of white wine form South Africa. When at the cashier the woman working there couldn’t touch the wine bottle! I was a bit surprised but she explained that she was Islamic and belonged to a brand of Islam where even touching alcohol is forbidden! I knew that Muslims weren’t to drink alcohol, but not even touching it. Never heard it before! I took the bottle up myself, and just smiled! I have these wonderful experiences all the time at Tesco! It is my multi cultural soup where everything comes together.. and one learns a lot about the city I’m living in… In London there are spoken over 300 languages…In some areas English is secondary language! It is a very heterogenic city! It is great for a person coming from the very white Scandinavia…
And on another note… Just realised that have done all the things on the list from Monday! Yes, Gudni… keep on making to do lists! Well hope somebody understood my text for today…. Now I have to get to work…
Later guys…
